HOE HE’E NALU : The hawaiian translation means paddle surf. This is a sport whose roots began with the local Waikiki “Beach Boys” using outrigger canoe paddles to surf waves while standing on their surfboards. This sport is not just about surfing, but about GLIDE. Looking for a no wind alternative? How about going for that core workout? This sport is for you. Paddle Surfing is a very simple and fun sport. You only need a board (sized between 10'0" to 12'0" long) and a paddle. Paddles usually run 6"-8" inches over your height (1 shaka length) and are made of carbon fiber. You can paddle surf in all kinds of conditions from flat water cruising to surfing the waves. Island Surf and Sail is proud to offer the line of Paddle Surf boards from Sean Ordonez. These boards from SOS Shapes range in size from 10' to 11'11" (Green, Blue and Big Red). All are a full epoxy styro construction which is both light and strong. Boards weight in between 17-19lbs and include fin. Come on in and check them out. | |
